Details

This person will help at packet pickup the day before the race. Tasks may include:

- Assign race bibs to participants
- Distribute race shirts
- Fill race mugs with sponsor items
- Prepare race medals
- Help race director prepare equipment for race morning

Volunteers should cancel their volunteer slot and notify the race director at race@SLRC.com as soon as possible if they will not be able to attend. It is always appreciated if you can find a replacement.

Although reasonable efforts will be made to place you in your assigned task, all volunteer tasks are subject to change at the discretion of the race director. By signing up for a volunteer shift, you are agreeing to help as needed and assigned by the race/volunteer director.

- Assign race bibs to participants

Start/Finish Area Set Up & Gear Check High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

This person will help with various tasks at the start/finish area. Tasks may include:

- Set up and operate a fun, comfortable start/finish area.
- Set up tents, arch, and equipment as instructed.
- Direct guests to the start line.
- Assist at the start line.
- Hand out medals at the finish line.
- Monitor cleanliness, signage, waste, and recycling in a particular area.
- Assist monitor in parking.
- Attend to gear check.
- Attend to restroom lines.

Aid Station Crew High Priority

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Tasks may include:

- Set up and take down aid station.
- Use pitchers to fill runners' personal cups with water or electrolytes as requested.
- Use a personal car (or ride with another volunteer) to get to the aid station location.

Race Day Food & Water Prep High Priority

This person will be in charge of preparing the food and hydration stations at the finish area. Tasks may include:

- Filling and moving water jugs
- Unwrapping and organizing food
- Cutting fruit
- Filling cups with water

Race Day Floater

Details

We usually have one or two volunteers who cancel last minute for various reasons. Because of this, we like to have a few extra volunteers come to the race. Your task will depend on what is most needed on the day of the race. It could include course monitor, aid station crew, food/hydration prep, gear check, packet pickup, or setup/takedown.
