Volunteers may be asked to do a variety of tasks, including: setting up the Expo area, handing out packets, bib numbers, shirts, and race swag to registered participants. Volunteers may also be asked to serve in the “Merch” area.

They will assist runners throughout the race by providing water or Powerade. Gels are provided at some aid stations. Volunteers will need to ensure that runners only take 1. Volunteers are encouraged to motivate runners with enthusiasm. Following the race, aid station volunteers will clean up the aid station. They will gather any clothing dropped by runners and return it to the volunteer area. Note: Each aid station will have a first aid kit available for use by runners. Volunteers will not provide medical treatment. If an emergency does occur, volunteers should immediately call course EMTs.

Details

Volunteers will be asked to do various tasks, including: directing participants and getting them loaded onto buses efficiently. Please check bibs to make sure the runners are registered. After bus loading is done, clean up the bus loading area, take station items over to the blue trailer in preparation for loading the trailer. Volunteers will then head to the finish line area to assist with last minute finish line set up including: putting up tents, unwrapping finisher medals, and placing medals on the designated table. Some volunteers may also be asked to help at the bag drop area, and food prep, etc.

Course Flaggers/Saturday (20 point per hour) High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Volunteers are responsible for making sure runners are kept safe and don’t have to stop for any traffic. They stop any vehicles that would impede a runner along the coned course by waving their flag. Course flaggers will keep the vehicle stopped until there is a gap in the runners large enough to let the vehicle move forward. They keep the course safe until the “sweeper” pacer passes their assigned station.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Volunteers will unload trucks and return equipment to the warehouse. Please bring gloves and water. This can be strenuous work.
