Race Command Support

Aid Station Expediter High Priority

Details

Using your own car, shuttle supplies to and from aid stations to ensure aid stations stay stocked with enough food, fluids, etc.

Must be local or very familiar with the areas surrounding Breaks Interstate Park; Dickenson County, Virginia; Birch Knob Observation Tower; and Elkhorn City, Kentucky.

Volunteer will be reimbursed for gas $20.

Race Command Support Medium Priority

Course Marshals are critical to ensuring runners stay on course, don't get lost, and stay safe and healthy.

This job requires a 1.5 mile hike up the mountain to reach your course marshal location.

Course Sweepers

Leg 2 Course Sweepers High Priority

FOR RUNNERS/HIKERS ONLY.

The Leg 2 sweepers will "sweep" the second quarter of the race. You must be willing and able to run or hike 25 miles.

Leg 2 sweepers will be responsible for keeping runners on time and on course.

Make sure no runner ever gets behind you!

Also, you will be taking down our course markings as you go. This is important as we strive to LEAVE NO TRACE!

This is a critical role in ensuring all runners remain on time and accounted for.

Your leg will begin at Cumberland Falls State Park and end at the Sheltowee Camp in Laurel County.

Leg 1 Course Sweepers High Priority

The Leg 1 sweepers will "sweep" the first 25 miles of the race. You must be willing and able to run or hike 25 miles.

As the Leg 1 sweeper you will NOT be pulling down any course marking. This is a safety role. Your job: ensure no runner gets behind you.

This is a critical role in ensuring all runners remain on time and accounted for.
