River Safety High Priority

Details

Most kings have a mote. The King of the James has a river and the king needs volunteers for that. If you have a boat, a throw bag, and call to serve your country men/women, we can use your help. Volunteers will meet at Reedy creek at 8am for a group meeting, and to review the plan for the race. Safety boaters should have a solid whitewater background and a basic understanding of river rescue.

General Volunteers High Priority

Details

Course marshals, registration, sign-in, timing, directing traffic, the list goes on... It takes a kingdom to put on the King of the James and the King needs your help. There is a lot to do and the King can't do it all himself. Volunteers should meet at 7:30 am at the Forest Hill parking area (where the farmers market happens). We will divide up tasks and make this thing happen.

Course Marking

Minimum met.

Details

The King needs an accurate survey of his lands. Join him the night before the race to mark the boundaries and keep the serfs on track.

Tear Down

Minimum met, 2 volunteer spots remaining.

Details

The King's land must remain pristine. Join him after the race to help remove course markings and general cleanup.
