Details

Course Marshals direct runners on course, assist police with keeping cars off course and cheering runners on. Details will follow as we get closer to the race.

Location

Various locations (570 spots) along both the 5k, 10k and Half Marathon ourses. Course marshals will park near their designated location at 7 am.

Details

Distribute event notice door hangers to neighborhood residents and local businesses along the course as a courtesy.

Flag Placement

Flag Placement: September 11th 2026 Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers will place mid-sized flags along the first 100 yards and the last mile of the racecourse. Flags will need to be hammered and placed in the grass near the curb. Details will follow as we get closer to the race.

Location

We will meet at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA Parking Lot:
10550 Harbor Hill Drive, Gig Harbor, WA 98332 FIRST to grab the flags and split up along the first 100 yards and the last mile of the racecourse (Costco/Borgen roundabout to the Sportsman's Club/Burnham roundabout).

Follow the last runner 5k runner and let aid stations, course monitors and police know you are the sweep and that no runners are behind you - it maybe that some of the 10k runners who start ahead of the 5k race will fall behind the 5ks runners - drop back to follow them. Let the aid stations, course monitors and police know you are the sweep.
