Come help us get ready for the most fun event of the year! We are looking for strong people who want to help unload the trucks, set up tents and tables, and help set up for the 5k. Shift is day before race day, on Saturday, May 17th.

Field Setup Crew

Details

Are you an early riser like us!? This task may be just for you. This task will require you to use your superpowers to help set up the stadium before everyone arrives. You will help place wave flags and school signs for our teams.

Registration

Help sign up day-of participants & kids dash participants. Hand out bibs and safety pins. Make sure people know where they are meeting their teams. The Booth Lead will assign specific tasks on the morning of the event.

Volunteer Check In

Check in volunteers, hand out snacks and shirts. Point them in the right direction, make sure they know where they are going and who to check in with.

Info Booth

Answer questions about Girls on the Run program. Answer questions about race day events like the kid's dash, schedule, maps. Info will be provided to you but a working knowledge of GOTR is helpful.

Coach Tent

Help with coaches, if they need extra bibs or medals. Direct them where they are meeting their teams. Collect unused season materials. Help with general questions.

Start Line Helpers

Help us with the starting of the waves. You will be holding tape across each group of runners to make sure that everyone is starting in their correct time slots and nobody sneaks by! Cheer for starters!

5K Bike Lead

Details

Using your own bike, lead out the various waves of runners along the course. Make sure course is clear of all other users and let the on course volunteers know that the race is coming. Must be able to bike 3.1 miles.

Start & Finish Line Course Monitors

Details

Help direct people where they need to go. Prevent overcrowding at the finish line/exits, help get participants to the start line for their waves, making sure track is cleared except for participants. Must be able to be direct and loud.

Stadium & Track Management- Local Running Groups*

Run Group energy meets sparkle! We know our local run groups know just how to bring the hype. Help direct and prevent spectators from going on to the track and field while participants are finishing. Answer questions and cheer. Enjoy watching all of the amazing finishers complete 5k their race!

Course Marshal

Direct participants where to go on course. Make sure they are staying to the right of the cones, make sure vehicles are not driving on the course. Cheer for participants!

Cheer Station

Parking

Direct drivers where to park. Monitor parking lot to see when it is full. Direct walkers how to get to the start line. Great job for people with big voices who like to be assertive!

Kids Dash Course Monitor/Cheering/ribbon

Help direct kids in the kids' dash. Hand out finisher's ribbons. Cheer for them. Make sure nobody else is getting onto the track during the dash.

Merchandise Booth

Help with setting out merchandise as items are sold. Answer questions about sizing. Make sure nobody walks off with unpaid merchandise.

Happy Heads!

Help make our superstars shine with our happy head's products! An interactive job with our participants and artistic/hair styling skills are a plus. The Booth Lead will assign specific tasks on the morning of the event. Be warned, it is a blast but a messy job!

Face Painters

Temporary Tattoo Helpers

Water Filling Station

Details

We are encouraging participants to bring their own water bottles to cut down on waste at the event. You will be at the water filling station, helping to fill people's personal water bottles. Wearing gloves, you will be the ones filling bottles. Refill big water coolers as needed.

Finish Line Medals

Hand out medals to all finishers and direct participants where to exit/reunite with families (In Sparkle Zone Plaza)

Finish Line water

Hand out water while also asking for runners to fill their water bottles. We only ordered 3000 cups so please push for bottles to be filled.

Clean Up Crew

Break down tents and tables. Load truck. Take down signs. Pack up shirts. Make sure garbage gets into dumpsters.
