Swim Support - Kayak/Stand Up Paddleboard (for non-lifeguards) High Priority

Details

This position provides swim course support during the swim portion of the race. These volunteers help ensure swimmers stay on course and help swimmers who might be struggling. These volunteers must provide their own paddleboard or kayak. This position is for non-lifeguard-certified volunteers. There is a separate sign up for those who wish to be in a kayak or on a paddleboard and are certified lifeguards.

UTV Course Patrol High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

This position is for anyone willing to bring their own UTVs to help Patrol the bike and run course to help keep riders and runners safe from traffic and on course.

Transition Zone Marshal High Priority

These individuals will be in the transition area to help athletes rack their bikes before the race, make sure there are no issues during the race, point racers in the right direction, and make sure athletes take the correct bike out of transition.

Finish Line High Priority

Details

This position give athletes water and medals as they cross the finish line, helps athletes who might need assistance after finishing, and directs athletes to the post-race celebration area. They will also remove the timing chip from finishers' ankles and return them to the timing company's tent.

Aid Station High Priority

Details

This position sets up and operates one of the 2 aid stations on the run, providing water and nutrition to athletes. They would also be responsible for cleaning up/tearing down the aid station when the race is over.

Wetsuit Strippers Low Priority

These volunteers help athletes remove their wetsuits after exiting the water.

Lifeguard High Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

These volunteers must be certified lifeguards and will be on stand-up paddle boards or kayaks during the swim portion of the race, ensuring all swimmers stay safe. Let us know if you have your own kayak or stand up paddleboard. If not, we will find one for you.

These volunteers will line up athletes prior to the swim start and will coordinate the time trial start (releasing 2 athletes at a time every 3 seconds).

This position includes checking racers in the morning of the race, giving racers their timing chip/swag bag, and answering general questions they might have. Ideally, this person would be experienced in using computers and RunSignUp so the check-in process goes smoothly.
