Description

Welcome to the monthly virtual race series for social justice causes that lives up to our company name, the Run for Good Race Series for Social Justice, presented by Run for Good Racing Co. Each month we choose a different PNW nonprofit working for social justice to support. 100% of the proceeds goes to this nonprofit. Races will take place on the last weekend of each month. Participants who sign up can log miles from 12:01am Saturday through 11:59pm Sunday, report the miles and if the collective miles reaches a certain goal (dependent on how many participants sign up) Run for Good Racing will chip in an extra donation. Just $10 to sign up and you get a printable race bib and access to the miles tracker. You can add a donation to the nonprofit at the time of registration.

Our first in the series will take place on July 25th and 26th and will benefit ACLU of Washington.

F.A.Q.

Q: What type of miles are allowed?

A: Runs, walks, crawls, paddles, outside or treadmill, wheelchair.  Unfortunately bike miles do not count. Only miles that are intended for this event (meaning not walking around the house steps).

Q: Can I do multiple runs and walks over the weekend and count them all?

A: Yes, any miles you complete between 12:01am on Saturday through 11:59pm on Sunday can be counted.

Q: How do I record my miles?

A: On our results page, down below. Results page will open on the weekend of the race and be open for 2 days after weekend to allow you to upload your miles.

Q: When will we know how many miles will trigger an additional donation?

A: We will announce the miles goal the Friday before race weekend. We have to wait and see how many participants sign up to determine how many miles is a challenge but reachable! We will be announcing accumulated mileage throughout the weekend on our Facebook page.

Q: Can I participate if I do not live in Washington?

A: Absolutely!

Q: How much of my registration and donation money goes to ACLU of WA?

A: All of it!

Q: When does registration close?

A: Registration will be open until 11:59pm on Sunday, July 26th.

Q: What do I get with my registration?

A: A printable bib to wear proudly during your weekend full of running and walking, access to the mileage upload, and the knowledge that you are helping with social justice.

Q: How do you choose your nonprofits?

A: You will choose them! We started us off by choosing ACLU of WA, but you get to have your vote after this. Anyone who registers and completes at least one mile in their month will have the chance to vote on the next month's nonprofit choice.

About the ACLU of Washington:

The ACLU will always be on the side of fairness, equality, freedom, and justice – for all

The ACLU is the nation's premier civil rights and civil liberties organization.  We are the unwavering voice of freedom, fairness and equality for all people in America. We work in the courts, the legislatures, and in our communities to protect and extend basic rights for everyone. The ACLU is fueled by more than a million members and supporters as well as thousands of volunteers.  The ACLU takes no government funds - we are people-powered!

The ACLU of Washington is the state affiliate of the ACLU.  We work to ensure justice, freedom and equality are realities for all people in Washington state, with particular attention to the rights of people and groups who have historically been disenfranchised. Such as the young man stopped by the police because of the color of his skin.  . . . the 10-year old immigrant girl forced to represent herself in court.. . . the disabled grandmother who is refused an apartment because of a decades-old conviction. . . . the woman told she may not have a hysterectomy in a religious-run hospital. . . . the gay couple refused service at a flower shop . . . and many more.

The ACLU of Washington is one of the ACLU's largest state affiliates thanks to our wonderful supporters, volunteers, activists, cooperating attorneys, staff, fellows and interns. Every dollar we raise in Washington is shared 50/50 with the national ACLU which distributes much of it to ACLUs in states like Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama. All across the country the ACLU tirelessly pursues large-scale impact that affects real people's lives, from reproductive, youth, and  LGBTQ rights; mass incarceration and racial justice; privacy, surveillance and technology; immigrant rights, freedom from religious interference, and more.
