Event Description
What is it?
A 6-Hour race around scenic Nolte State Park, featuring a 1.4 mile loop course. With minimal elevation gain, crushed gravel/packed dirt terrain, and few roots and rocks, this course is and accessible to every level of runner/walker. It's also pretty speedy for those looking to chase 50k PRs. Yes, it is November and the weather may be awful, but that's all part of the fun. Half sufferfest and half party, NEN is a celebration of running and the fellowship it creates.
This year, we will be waiving registration fees and accepting optional donations to benefit the Washington Trail Association (WTA). So come get loopy, make friends, and support a good cause. This event is more about building community than competition, but prizes will be awarded to the top male, female, and non-binary athletes.
Additional Information
- There will be an aid station stocked with water, electrolytes, and a limited amount of traditional ultra running snacks. Participants are encouraged to bring something to contribute to the aid station if they have the means to do so. Bringing your own reusable cup is also highly appreciated.
- Nolte has a large parking lot and road parking is also permitted. The gate to the park opens at 8am and a Discover Pass is required.
- Permitting for this event is still in process, but should be approved (per the park ranger). In the event NEN does not receive permitting, everyone will have the opportunity to recoup their donations.
