Packet pickup is at Lakedale. Just past the lodge, follow the signs. Packet pickup will be on Friday between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. and Saturday morning beginning at 6 a.m.
If your competing in the triathlon, you must be present and provide a standard ID to pickup your packet. If you are competing in one of our running events, you may have someone pickup your bib and t-shirt.
While we do not have "cut off" times for our races, we do request that you are adequately trained to finish safely and in a reasonable time for your sake and the sake of our volunteers.
Yes, but only if the races aren't full. The triathlon usually sells out but there is usually room for more runners. This is based on a limited transtion area.
Start and finish lines are located at Lakedale.
There are aid stations approximately every three miles for the running portions. There is one aid station on the Olympic distance bike course. The aid stations will be stocked with standard water and Gatorade as well as some edibles, but not those kind of edibles.
We love dogs and Lakedale is dog-friendly. However, our sanctions with USA Triathlon and USA Track & Field don't allow dogs on the course.
There will be porta-potties near the start/finish and located on the Olympic and Sprint bike course as well as the Half Marathon course.
For a number of reasons, headphones and earbuds are NOT permitted on the course while racing.
We do suggest you leave any valuables secured in your room or car. We will have a location to drop bags, which will be near registration/finish line.
Yes, you will receive a finishers medal when you finish. You will receive a t-shirt in the size you ordered IF you register prior to June 1. We need time to have the shirts printed and shipped. If the size on race day isn't to your liking, you can attmept to exchange it following the race.
Parking is free. Location of parking depends on your event.
Triathlon parking is at Lakedale. This is due to the amount of gear required for triathlon. Please carpool if you can. While parking, DO NOT block other cars please. We will have a parking attnedant, but it happened one year.
If you are participating in any of the runs, you will park at the Friday Harbor High School, located about 4 miles from the start. We will have shuttles beginning Saturday morning and running about every 20 to 30 minutes following the race. Spectators can also use the shuttles at no charge.
Please, ONLY triathlon participants will be allowed down the access road on race day. You can be dropped off at the top of the access road if you got a ride. Thanks for your understanding.
Most people take the Washington State Ferry from Anacortes. The schedule and reservations for the weekend of June 20 can be found at https://secureapps.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/reservations/vehicle/SailingSchedule.aspx?cookieCheck=true
Please do get a reservation and make sure you arrive at the terminal more than 30 minutes in advance or they bump you to standby. They are strict about this. You have to get through the toll booth 30 minutes or more before the sailing time.
Once you're in line, the "ferry stress" vanishes.
Please plan to hang out after your race! We have live music and a full meal for your enjoyment. Both included with your entry fee!
We will also have awards within one hour of the first place finisher for each event.
YES! IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THE COURSE!
No race director or participant wants to hear "I took a wrong turn". We do everything we can to ensure you stay on course. We have spray chalk arrows on the road, signs and volunteers pointing the way at key locations. Despite this, we seem to have one or two who go the wrong way. Kinda ruins everyone's day when that happens.
Please plan on taking a little time the day before to drive your course and study the maps. We know your aerobic/anaerobic brain doesn't always cooperate, but if we work together, we hope to have you complete the course that was inteneded. Thank you!
