The Go Fourth Mile is back on Independence Day 2022 after a two-year hiatus! And for this patriotic holiday event, the Cowlitz Valley Runners are partnering with a patriotic non-profit organization, Helping Every Veteran In Need (HEVIN). You can help veterans through a donation to HEVIN when you register for the Go Fourth Mile. Learn more about HEVIN at www.hevin4vets.com
Come join us for a one mile race (run or walk) on the route of the Longview, Washington Go 4th Festival's July 4th parade. It starts at the historic Monticello Hotel and finishes near Martin's Dock at beautiful Lake Sacajawea Park. Hosted by the Cowlitz Valley Runners, in partnership with HEVIN and the Longview Parks & Recreation Department, and sponsored by the Monticello Hotel, the Child & Adolescent Clinic, and Red Leaf Organic Coffee, this is a fun event for the whole family. Hundreds of fans (lined up to watch the Go 4th Parade that will follow the race) will cheer the runners and walkers on this fast, flat, scenic course. The focus is on family fun, so the entry fee is minimal. In keeping with the community, non-profit volunteer philosophy of the Go 4th Festival, the Cowlitz Valley Runners will apply all proceeds to scholarships for high school seniors pursuing higher education.
Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top male and female finishers. Ribbons will be awarded to the the second and third place male and female finishers, and to the first male and female finishers over 50 . Plus, we have several random door prizes!! WALKERS CAN WIN TOO!!
