Back by popular demand! Join us for ASAPC’s 3rd Annual Community 5K: “Run, Walk, Roll” to help bring awareness to Early Support for Infants and Toddlers!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? The ASAPC Community 5K, Run, Walk, & Roll Early Support for Infants and Toddlers Awareness Event is an event for ALL families in Pierce County and the surrounding areas!

WHY: The purpose of this event is to raise the importance of Early Support Services for infants and toddlers. A Step Ahead in Pierce County (ASAPC) has been committed to supporting families of infants and toddlers of all abilities by enhancing their development and relationships both at home and in their community. We aim to empower families with children from birth to age three who have developmental delays or are at risk for delays by equipping them with resources, service coordination, caregiver support, transition information, and therapeutic and/or educational services.
Our vision is a community that embraces and integrates children of all abilities and treasures the unique gifts each child possesses.

Who can participate?
The event is available to ALL families in Pierce County and the surrounding areas.
How much does it cost?
$15 per person or FREE with a donation for ASAPC's Resource Closet
Children 12 and under are free
Current ASAPC families are free
Can I get a t-shirt?
Yep…our 5k Race performance t-shirt is only $20 bucks! You may purchase online or at the registration booth before the race, while supplies last.
Can I walk the race?
Yes. You may Run, Walk, or Roll whichever you prefer. Heck, you could even jump or do summer salts, but that would be really exhausting!
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, strollers are allowed.
Are dogs/pets allowed?
Yes, at ASAPC we welcome everyone however, your fur-friend must be well behaved otherwise, it’s probably a good idea to have them sit this one out.
Are bikes/scooters allowed?
Yes, but children under 10 only. Please be aware of others on the trail. Runners will generally stay to the left.
Are there restrooms on site?
Yes! There are public restrooms available for use on site.
What is included with my registration?
Race registration. 5K Race performance t-shirts are available for an additional $20 purchase too!
Will you have snacks and water?
Along the race path, awesome volunteers will have a variety of snacks and water will be served at refueling stations.
What cause am I supporting with the purchase of my race ticket?
All proceeds from the ASAPC Community 5K, Run, Walk, & Roll Early Support for Infants and Toddlers Awareness Event will go directly to cover the event costs. Any extra funds will help support the wonderful work of ASAPC!
Will I receive an award?
Sure, we can clap for you saying “good job” other than that, you can check out your race stats

Can I get a refund?
This is a rain or shine event!
There will be no refunds.

This paved trail around the lake is smooth and great for families.
Parking: The main parking lot can easily fill up on a busy day. There is also overflow parking across the street and street parking available.
Accessibility: There are 3 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of 7th Street Southeast at the northwest end of the trail. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles.
The trail surface is paved asphalt and smooth. It is typically at least 8 feet wide. Much of the trail is estimated to be in the gentle (3% or less) grade category. This trail will likely be navigable for most wheelchairs/mobility equipment or stroller users. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.
