The K9 Candy Cane 5K Fun Run and Walk is held at the Renton Community Center. Runners and walkers travel along the paved beautiful Cedar River Trail before looping back to the Community Center. Competitive runners, fun runners, walkers and families (with or without) dogs are all invited to this annual event. Accurate and professional chip timing is provided by BuDu Racing, LLC. If registered before 8:00AM December 2, participants will receive a hooded sweatshirt. Race participants will also enjoy random prize giveaways (must be present to win), post-race refreshments and selfies with Santa (bring your phone or camera)! Don't forget about our annual pet food drive for our furry friends in need.
Early Bird Pricing August 26, through October 31. Regular Pricing November 1, through 8:00AM November 26.
Registration after 8:00AM December 2, through Saturday December 7, will not be eligible to receive a Hooded Sweatshirt.
Bib Number Pick Up
If you have pre-registered, you may pick up your race packet at The Renton Community Center Friday, December 6, 1:00PM - 4:30PM and Saturday December 7, 9:30AM – 4:30PM.
Race Guidelines for Dogs
• All dogs have to be current on vaccinations
• No female dogs in heat
• No dogs under six months of age
• No aggressive dogs or aggressive owners
• Dogs must be on leash no more than 6 feet in length
• No more than two dogs per person
• Owners are responsible for picking up after their dog(s) at all times
• Owners are responsible for the well-being and safety of their dog(s) at all times.
Pet Food Drive
Please bring a can/bag of pet food to be donated to local animals in need. Our 2018 event raised over 1,200 pounds of food for our furry friends. Let's see if we can beat that for 2019!
Recreational walkers/runners are non-competitive and will not be timed if finishing after 45 minutes. If you are participating in this event but are not being timed please be considerate and not cross the finish line where timing is taking place. Keep to the right of the timing shoot.
Awards and Results
Following the race join other racers and their pets for pictures (you provide the camera) with Santa or at a festive back-drop. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to capture that keepsake photo with your camera/phone. Light complimentary refreshments will be provided after race. Awards will be given to the top three runners overall in both men and woman’s group. Finisher Certificates can be printed for all runners in each age group category at www.BuDuRacing.com.
After 8:00AM December 2, hooded Sweatshirts are no longer available. If there are extras available after the event, you may be able to get one.
