--- About the 5K Course ---
Your senses will delight! We know this will be one of the prettiest runs you'll ever do.
The race will start at the UW Center For Urban Horticulture adjacent to Laurelhurst on the very eastern edge of campus. Purchase coffee and explore the grounds. Warm up and stretch with Mobilize Physical Therapy! Faster runners with projected times under 21 minutes will start in the first wave, corral PINK. If you are slower, have a dog or stroller, or want to take your coffee on a "sip 'n stroll" through campus please start in the last corral PURPLE. Everyone else will line up in corral GREEN.
The first half mile is teeming with wildlife! Please stay on the gravel path within Union Bay Natural Area. Do not go off trail. Do not step on plants!
Continue behind and around the renovated Husky Stadium. Pass by the new UW Link Light Rail Station then head up the ramp to cross the new Montlake Blvd Pedestrian Overpass!
Is a continuous uphill 1 mile climb on E. Stevens Way NE! You'll pass by various academic buildings. Turn left into the main entrance at Memorial Way NE. Head downhill to the finish in Red Square and finish!
We'll have Legion of Bloom medal awards for top finishers, commemorative medals for those who purchased, amazing donuts, protein bars, refreshments, and FREE professional photography waiting for you in Red Square and The Quad. Please take a moment to check out the vendors!
*DO NOT climb the cherry trees in The Quad or anywhere on the UW campus! There are over 200 of them!*

-- Chip Timing & Bibs --
Chip timing will be provided by Rivalry Events. You'll have a programmed disposable timing tag placed on the back of your bib. Please wear the bib on your chest on the outermost layer of clothing so it is clearly visible for staff, accurate timing and the auto-tagging by photographers (so you don't have to sift through thousands of images of strangers).
Live results will be displayed on laptop kiosks near the finish line and later posted to the RunSignUp page.
--- Parking ---
We worked UW Transportation Services to get FREE parking on campus on ANY open parking lot. But the run/walk finish won’t be the end of the campus tour by foot for many of you! Plan to park in the LARGE athletic parking lot just east of Montlake Blvd and north of Husky Stadium and the basketball arena. From there it's a straight 8-10 minute walk to the Start and from the Finish.
Also park in surrounding neighborhoods. We also encourage you guys to carpool, take a $5 Lyft ride using the 15% off code "EXPLOREGREEN" on their Green Mode on the homepage of the app. Also Lime-bikes and Jump bikes are spread throughout campus!
If planning to take the UW Link Rail, hop onto a Lime Bike at the station and ride 1 mile around to the Center for Urban Horticulture.
