Join in the fun for the 5th Annual Montlake Community Club 5K Turkey Trot and Kids Run, with 100% of net proceeds benefiting the University District Food Bank. 2020 is a year like no other, and the Virtual Turkey Trot allows you to run, walk, or jog on your own schedule while maintaining the spirit of Montlake's annual tradition. You can complete your course outdoors or inside on a treadmill, whatever you prefer.
Racing virtually: Every participant will receive a bib, Montlake face buff, and custom finisher's medal in the mail or by delivery if you choose to receive a packet. We encourage signups prior to November 21st to ensure that your swag will arrive in time.You may also choose to register without any race packet delivered for a flat rate of $20!
5K Run/Walk: The entry fee is $30 through November 12th. It increases to $35 on November 12th to the 21st. Registration between the 21st and The 26th is $40, and cannot guarantee that the race swag will arrive by the 26th. We highly encourage racers to register early to help with shipping!
Kids 1-mile run (ages 2-12): Entry fee is $20 from now until November 21st. Registration between the 21st and The 26th is $30, and cannot guarantee that the race swag will arrive on time.
Packet mail - To ensure packet delivery arrives prior to Thanksgiving day, we encourage you to register prior to November 23rd. Those registered on or after the 21st will still have their race packet delivered, but we cannot ensure that it will arrive prior to Thanksgiving. There is no in person registration this year
Net proceeds from the race and all additional donations go to the University District Food Bank.

You will be recording your own times and can submit them via email, text or entered directly on the RunSignUp website. We encourage you to submit your results on Thanksgiving day.
Not a runner but still want to participate? Sign up to volunteer! We need lots of volunteers to make the race a success and appreciate the help. Also, any runners that volunteer to help with this year's event get a free registration. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.

The goal of the Montlake Turkey Trot is to bring our community together on Thanksgiving morning and to raise funds for the University District Food Bank. The Food Bank serves our low-income neighbors when they are in need. To learn more about the good work that is done by the food bank please see the video below.

As the race has gone virtual, we will be mailing or delivering swag to all participants. We'll be providing: Race numbers, a neck buff and a finishers medal!
Designs above are for demonstration purposes only and are may look different when you receive the final version. The website will be updated with final designs once they have been determined.
All items will be shipped this year. To ensure that items arrive before race day, November 26th, please register before November 22nd. Registrations on the 22nd or later will still receive a race packet, but may arrive at a date later than the 26th.
Due to COVID-19 there will be no in-person pickup this year.
When registering for the race, RunSignUp requires you to enter a binary gender to complete registration, and that while we do not view gender as binary, please best identify with which you feel comfortable indicating.
To ensure that you receive your swag, please use the shipping address that you wish to receive your swag packet in. Shipping will be sent to US addresses only.
2020 is a challenging year for so many reasons, and bringing a new type of event to the virtual world is no exception. As this years race is "Virtual," here are some of the steps and considerations that we've made to ensure that you are as safe as possible while still promoting the spirit of the Montlake Turkey Trot from wherever you choose to participate.
Sign-up: signing up for the event is just like any in-person event you've done in the past! You can Register Here. The cost of the race helps us offset the cost of swag and shipping logistics, and 100% of the proceeds directly fund the University District Foodbank.
Swag: All items will be mailed to you, there is no in-person pickup this year. Please see the "Swag" section for details and timelines.
Race-day: When it comes to "racing," we encourage you to find your own route on your own time and to participate on Thanksgiving day! Pin your race number to your shirt if you'd like and go out and run 5k (or the kids mile) wherever you like. To dissuade large group settings, unfortunately we are not able to provide routes or guidance this year, but there are many credible sources to help you determine how long 5k is and chart your own course, including MapMyRun and many others.
Results: You will be uploading your results either via email, text or directly to this website!
Awards: All participants will receive a finishers medal. Since not everyone has a GPS watch to verify the distance, we ask that you report your results on the honor system. There are no individual awards for age groups, as we cannot independently verify the results
Social/sharing: We encourage you to tag us and upload your photos to the website!
