Description

Join us Saturday September 30th, 3:00 pm at Millwood City Park during the Spokane Fresh Hop Festival for the 2nd Annual Millwood Beer Mile!  Millwood Brewing Company will be providing the beer as part of the race entry. Must be 21 and over to enter, valid ID required!

Competitors will run in waves and each wave will drink a beer, run 1/4 mile then drink another until four beers are consumed and a mile is covered. Runners who throw up will be immediately disqualified.

Beer must be consumed before the lap begins within the transition area. The race begins with competitors lined up on the mile starting line, drinking the first beer in the transition zone described in the step above. This ensures competitors cover a complete mile. Competitors can walk/move in the transition area while drinking, but all beer must be consumed in the transition area before setting off to run a lap.

Beer will be served in cups/ glasses and no straws or other aids are allowed that speed up the pouring process.

Each wave will be documented and then an awards ceremony will follow at Millwood City Park to acknowledge the afternoons best performances!

Spokane Fresh Hop Festival is an annual harvest celebration dedicated to uplifting the craft beer scene in the Northwest. 70% of the Worlds Hop production comes from the Yakima valley 3 hours away. What many don’t know is producing a Fresh Hop craft beer requires hops to be used within 8 hours of being harvested. This time constraint limits the breweries that can produce a Fresh Hop craft beer. The brewing process requires 4x the effort from traditional craft beer styles and as you can expect is one of the most expensive beers breweries create. This unique event allows participants to taste these amazing fresh brewed beers in one location from 20+ Inland NW breweries.
