Both returning participants and new-comers will enjoy the *new* Start/Finish near the Danielson Stage and the *new course* that winds through the beautiful streets of Amery.

The 2026 Amery Fall Festival theme is America250 - come dressed in your favorite Red, White, and Blue gear!

After the race, be sure to stick around Amery for all the festivities!  You can find the schedule of events here: https://ameryfallfestival.org/

*Now managed by Brightside Running in association with the Amery Fall Festival.

Our Mission

Create fun, high-quality, family and community events that promote healthy activity and bring people together.

Swag

T-Shirts: (Design is pending) Registrants will receive a 2026 Amery Fall Festival 5k t-shirt, if registered by September 1, 2026. We may have extra shirts at registration, but cannot guarantee a shirt if you register after this date. If you OPT OUT of this option, you will not receive a t-shirt.

Shirts are unisex sizes. Adult and Youth sizes available.

Finish Line Tent: Water and bananas will be provided for all 5k finishers at the finish line. These are for registered participants only – please let your spectating friends/family know.

Packet Pickup

Location: Large White Tent near the Danielson Stage

Time: 6:30-7:25am

Parking: Parking is available on side streets within a short walking distance of the start.

Bib Pickup & T-Shirts: Please arrive early to allow ample time to park, pick up your bib, and get to the start line. The 5k will start promptly at 7:30am. You will receive the t-shirt size you indicated on your registration. If you registered late and did not receive a t-shirt with your registration, you *might* be able to snag one after the race (if we have extra shirts available).

The Course

The Amery Fall Festival 5k (3.1 miles) loop runs counterclockwise through Amery. It includes streets, sidewalks, a trail, and a couple of bridge crossings.

  • Mile 1: Winds through some nice neighborhoods. There's a hill about one quarter mile long (along 46). Be patient, don't burn out!
  • Mile 2: End ups on the river trail behind the hospital. Little hills, great views, and will get you to the halfway point where you end up on a flat/slightly downhill portion of the race.
  • Mile 3: Continues on flat/slightly downhill roads all the way to the finish line!

Course Safety: This is NOT a closed course. The route has a few road crossings, all participants are responsible for their own safety when crossing these roads. We will have volunteers to keep you on course (so you don't make a wrong turn) and at some road crossings, but they are there to warn runners of traffic (they will not stop traffic for you). A PR in your race distance is exciting, but your safety should come first! If you see a car, please assume they do NOT see you and allow them the right-of-way.

There will be cones placed on some areas of road - Stay to the INSIDE of the cones (between the curb and cone, not in the road)

The course avoids most adverse footing, but we can't control all tripping hazards (such as potholes or uneven sidewalk), so watch your step.

*The map below shows the course route, but is subject to change for any reason determined by the Race Director and without notice.

*This is not a closed course. We will have volunteers at major road crossings, but not all. Please be mindful of traffic - your safety is the number one priority!

*No dogs permitted.

Timing and Results

Start Line & Timing: There will be signs posted at the start line indicating estimated efforts (competitive runners, runners, run/walkers, and walkers). We ask that you sort yourself appropriately based on your abilities in order to help minimize congestion at the start. This is a chip-timed event, so your official time doesn’t start until you cross the start line and ends when you come back through the finish line. Official timing is provided by Duluth Timing & Events.
