Description
Rockin the Snowshoes and the Blizzard of Camrock Fat Bike races are the newest challenge of races held back to back on Sundays with 2 dates in January and 2 dates in February. This new series of races will be held at the great Camrock Park, located just outside of the picturesque town of Cambridge, Wisconsin (around 20 minutes east of Madison). The snow shoe and fat bike races will be held on professionally groomed trails by Capital Off Road Pathfinders. The groomed trails of Camrock Park will challenge you with difficult elevation change but will astonish you with the beauty of the park under a layer of snowfall. The course will change according to weather and trail conditions. These new races have been carefully planned and produced by Sweat Associates and Capital Off Road Pathfinders. The Snow Shoe races will offer two distances; 5k and 10k courses. Lack of snow will make the event a run keeping the 5K and 10K distances. The Blizzard of Camrock is a fat tire bike race. We encourage all ability levels to join us and become a part of either the snow shoe race or the fat tire bike race, and if you’re really feeling motivated, do both! The unique opportunity and availability to rent your snow shoes and fat bikes from Camrock Café makes it a great way to try out each sport. If you need to rent snow shoes or a fat bike for the race, please contact Camrock Café. Novice divisions in each race will give you the opportunity to race against other new athletes to the sport of snow shoeing and fat tire racing. Packet pickup will be the morning of the race unless otherwise announced. The end of the year series awards presentation and party will be hosted at the new Cambridge Distillery (home of Travis Hasse Distilling Co.) following the last race of the season.
