REGISTRATION FOR THE 0.5K OKTOBERFEST FUN RUN IS NOW CLOSED!
THE UNDERACHIEVER'S RACE FOR POUR RUNNERS - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH
Join the Elm Grove Community Foundation and presenting sponsor, O'Donoghue's Irish Pub, along with your fellow beer-drinking fun friends for a day (actually more like 15 minutes) of 'pour running', underachievement, glory, and celebration to kick off Elm Grove's Oktoberfest! Race proceeds will benefit the Elm Grove Community Foundation. Race starts at 3:30 P.M. (check-in begins at 2:45 P.M. at O'Donoghue's Irish Pub) and will finish....well, at 3:45 P.M. at the Oktoberfest beer tent! SPACE IS LIMITED SO REGISTER NOW!
This will be very fun, tongue-in-cheek event that will mimic the typical 5k....but will really be more of a walk/run beer parade from O'Donoghue's Irish Pub to the Village Park Oktoberfest grounds to kick off the festivities. Children welcome to participate with root beer, adults over 21 will be enjoying some great brews along the way.
ABOUT THE RACE
The "0.5K Run" will start at O'Donoghue's Irish Pub - check-in will take place in the parking lot at 2:45 P.M. and the "race" will start promptly at 3:30 P.M. Conveniently, O'Donoghue's will provide all participants a free beer (beer-aid station #1 of 3) before the start of the race, so get there early. Yay beer! The "race", will then head across Watertown Plank, down Elm Grove Street, to Juneau. At the corner of Legion and Juneau (beer-aid station #2 of 3) participants must stop for one more beer, because Wisconsin, AM I RIGHT?!). Participants will then head into the village park where you will finish in a blaze of glory at the Oktoberfest tent (beer-aid station #3)...which will conveniently be filled with MORE BEER! There will be a "Racer's Podium" (i.e. the Oktoberfest stage) so we can all relive the experience, talk about overcoming our hurdles, and take selfies to post on social media "I DID IT!!! I'M A FINISHER!! LOOK AT ME!!!" Oktoberfest organizers have offered all participants a free beer at the end of the race. Yay beer! Yay finishers! Yay selfies! And Yay goodies and trophies!

Don't feel like running? Don't think you can make it the full 546 yards? Then you should be a VIP. For an additional $25, you don't even have to run! How awesome is that?! The official Uptown 0.5K shuttle will be gassed up and ready for your lazy VIP behind. If you don't want to walk to the park, Uptown will shuttle you there! You still get your free beer at all three beer-points, and all of the other goodies but the best thing is you get a big medal because you are more important!
Participants and spectators are encouraged to park in the Village Park (this is the 'race endpoint') and walk to O'Donoghue's Irish Pub for 'race' check-in and start. Limited parking will also be available at Town Bank and St. Mary's Visitation Parish.
