Milwaukee Gobble Wobble Update: Important Event Change
Hi Runners, Walkers & Ruckers,
Yesterday, we shared some exciting updates to the Chilly Willy Winter Run Series — including new features, expanded access to heated buildings, and the introduction of rucking.
Unfortunately, we also have a tough update to share:
We’ve made the difficult decision to remove the Milwaukee Gobble Wobble from the 2025-2026 series.
As much as we’ve loved hosting this Thanksgiving tradition, the event no longer meets the standards we’ve set for exceptional service and participant experience.
Here’s why:
- Milwaukee County no longer allows use of the building at Boerner Botanical Gardens on Thanksgiving, which means participants would be left standing out in the cold — something we’re not okay with.
- A new perimeter fence around the property has also made the traditional course route unusable.
Our mission is to exceed expectations at every event, and under these constraints, we simply can’t deliver the experience you deserve.
But we’ve got you covered:
If you registered for the race, your entry has been transferred to the Oconomowoc Gobble Wobble, where we’ve secured a 40,000 square foot heated building so you can stay warm before and after the race — and still enjoy all the holiday fun.

Whether you're chasing a new personal best or just enjoying a brisk walk with the family, this scenic course through the beautiful Boerner Botanical Gardens is the perfect way to kick off the holiday.
And don’t forget the little ones—our Kiddo’s 1K is free, so bring the whole family for a morning of movement and memories.

Parking
Parking is available at the Boerner Botanical Gardens. Please enter off of 92nd street. Whitnall Park Dr will be closed.
Course
This 5K course starts at the Boerner Botanical Gardens and winds through the roads of Whitnall Park. The course has a few ups and downs, but nothing too aggressive. This should be a good course for runners or walkers of any ability. Strollers are permitted.
Aid Stations
There will be one aid station on course (see course map). Participants will pass the aid station twice. The aid station on course and the aid station at the Finish Line will have water.
T-shirts
Everyone who is registered by 11:59 am Friday, November 14 will be guaranteed a custom cotton unisex Gobble Wobble t-shirt. After that, t-shirts will be available while online supplies last. Any extra shirts will be distributed after the race on a first come, first served basis. About t-shirts.
Schedule and Packet Pickup
PLEASE BRING YOUR EMAIL RECEIPT WITH YOU!
You do not need to print it, but we will need to scan the QR code on the email receipt, so please have your email accessible on your mobile device or save a picture of your receipt with the QR code to your device’s image library. We strongly encourage you to pick up your packet early.

Teams
We will bundle all packets for teams with 4 or more members. The team captain, or designee must pick up the team's packets.
Picking up more than one packet
If you are picking up for more than one person, please do the following:
1. Put all of their QR codes on one sheet of paper OR
2. Write all of their names on one sheet of paper (last name, first name, t-shirt).
That will make your life a whole lot easier when you go to hand out the info to your team.

Hot Chocolate Bar!
After the race, gather with friends at our cozy Hot Chocolate Bar for a delicious warm-up!
Featuring a wide variety of tasty toppings and mix-ins, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after your chilly run. You’ll find the Hot Chocolate Bar at every event in the Chilly Willy Winter Run Series. It’s also where we typically announce race awards—so don’t miss the fun, the flavors, and the celebration!
Awards
Your race time and age group result are available online after you cross the finish line - select RESULTS from the menu above. All runners will receive a finisher woodle from Ridgeway Woodworks and the top 3 male & female finishers in 5-year age groups will receive a custom woodle. An awards ceremony will take place at the race. Awards can also be picked up the Wednesday after the race at Silver Circle's Global Headquarters in Oconomowoc, WI.
Your age is based on the date of the last event in the Chilly Willy Winter Run Series.
Average Joe & Jane Awards
The Average Joe & Jane Awards are back for the Chilly Willy Series 5K Runs are are presented to the male and female runner who finished in the exact middle of all runners. Winners will receive a t-shirt and custom medal!
SCSE Wants To Save You Money

Volunteers
We need volunteers for everything from aid station support to course marshals. If you or your group have an interest in volunteering, we would greatly appreciate the assistance. Timing
The race is chip timed by Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC with a chip start. Your time will start when you cross the start line and stops when you cross the finish line.
Walkers Welcome
Walkers and families are welcome to participate! We ask that all walkers stay to the right of the road so runners can pass on the left.

We get it—life happens! That’s why we recommend purchasing event insurance during checkout.

Weather / Refund Policy
Refunds are not permitted for any reason.
The event will be held unless severe weather occurs. In the event of severe weather, the race director may delay or cancel the event. If the event is canceled, there will be no refunds. Silver Circle Sports Events has a NO REFUND policy.
How to transfer, defer, change shirt sizes and change distances
- Login into RunSignUp.com
- Select your Profile.
- Scroll down to the race you would like to modify.
- Select "Manage Registration".
- All of your options will be listed in the menu.
- *Deferrals must be completed 10 days prior to event.
