Description

5K run/walk fundraiser for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). POTS is a type of dysautonomia, which is a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ANS controls heart rate, blood pressure, gastrointestinal motility, and other automatic functions of the body. People who are affected with POTS present many symptoms including dizziness, fainting, fast heart rate, low blood pressure, chest pain, extreme fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and many more. There is currently no known cure for POTS since the cause of POTS is unknown. There are different treatment plans and medications to try to help control the symptoms. 

PURPOSE

The main purpose of this event is to raise awareness and funds for POTS research. POTS reasearch is being actively pursued. Funding is necessary to support these efforts.

 

$30 Registration Fee includes:

T-Shirt (if registered by September 7th)

Beverage and Snack

All profits will be donated to Dysautonomia International, a non-profit organization.

*Children 12 and under are FREE!!!

 

SCHEDULE:

9:15am ~ Registration Begins

10:00am ~ Run/Walk Begins

There will also be a 50/50 raffle at the event. 

*Event will be held rain or shine. NO REFUNDS will be given.*

 

POTS Awareness color is BLUE, so make sure to come dressed in blue!!!
