The Run Walk to honor those we may have lost, who are struggling in active addiction or those that are thriving in recovery!

Drug and alcohol substance abuse has touched many friends and families. More Wisconsinites are dying from drug overdoses (in 2019, 3.3 people per day) than in traffic accidents (in 2019, 1.5 people per day).

All of us have been touched in some way by addictions. Some in their pain still trapped in the addiction cycle, others working through stages of recovery, loved ones impacted by the effects of substance abuse and addictions, and those who are celebrating recovery.

Recovery from substance abuse and the cycle of addiction is achievable. This run celebrates the real possibility of living a full and wholesome life free from the addiction cycle and its destructive effects; restoration of body-mind-soul and healed relationships with a hope for a bright future.

Home Run for Recovery’s objectives: 1) raise awareness of what addiction is; 2) raise awareness of the Coulee Recovery Center and the resource that the agency can be; and 3) raise funds to provide recovery support and relapse prevention programming.

Home Run for Recovery will be held virtually this year.  Races to register for: 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run or the Youth Fun Run (1-mile challenge).

Runs can be completed between September 6th and September 24th. We ask that you upload a picture or video of your participation to the “Home Run for Recovery” Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/homerunforrecovery) as well as your completed time no later than 9p.m. on Thursday, September 24th to qualify for prizes.

The top three men and women in three categories:
ages 19 and under
40 and above
will be provided an award.

All participants will receive a T-shirt after completion of the event.

All youth who participate in the 1-mile challenge can also upload their picture or video, as well as time, and receive a t-shirt and a gift.  Top three youth times will also get an extra surprise!

On Saturday, September 26th the Coulee Recovery Center will be holding a Brat or Hot Dog meal fundraiser - to stay in tradition with the fall season and celebrating Oktoberfest. 11a.m. to 2p.m. or until gone.  On this day and during that time participants can pick-up their race t-shirt and prizes for the award winners.
