Together the La Crosse Track Club and River City Running Club (RCRC) are hosting our annual Summer Youth Track Program. Our goal is to work together to improve our community through running and overall physical activity by providing a high quality program that will expose area youth to joys of Track and Field. Track and Field provide a life long means to staying active and healthy, and we believe that through early exposure to a positive experience we can create life long habits. 

This year, our club will be hosting an in person program for 6 weeks. (Estimated dates (6 weeks): (6/07/2022-7/14/2022)

Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6pm at the Logan High School track. 

Grades 1-5 will offer an age-specific track and field youth experience, and will include exposure to sprints, distance running, and field events – focusing on fundamentals in a fun and engaging way.

Grades 6-12 will also have broad opportunities for most events in track and field, but will allow the athletes to focus in their area(s) of interest. Coach availability for individual areas may vary from practice to practice but every effort will be made to regularly offer all events including sprints, distance, hurdles, jumps, and throws. A dedicated pole vault group will also be an option for 2022.

Local track meets for athletes ages 6-14 are tentatively scheduled for Friday mornings on June 24th (@ Holmen) and July 8th (@ Onalaska).  Participation in the Track Club program is a requirement for athlete eligibility for these local summer meets. Additional competition venues for athletes of ALL ages are available with USATF, AAU, and Badger State Games.  More information on these meets will be published in the late spring.

As with everything over the past two years, we will be following CDC guidelines for group gatherings with COVID safety measures in place. Please keep in mind that we are doing this for everyones safety. If recommendations change, we will be flexible with these guidelines.
