Description
We are excited to bring a new US Masters Swimming Sanctioned marathon distance-swim to Southeastern Wisconsin!
The 1st Annual "Swim of Legends" will take place on July 26th, 2025. The swim includes a solo 8 mile and 2 or 4 person relay 8 mile distance across beautiful Geneva lake. Take on the challenge of swimming across the clear waters of Geneva Lake. Geneva Lake is a large clean water lake with visibility commonly 30 to 40 feet within the beautiful Kettle Moraine region of Southeastern Wisconsin. Water temperatures are expected to be between 74-78 degrees. This is a US Master's certified swim. This is a non-wetsuit event. Swim buoys are required and kayak support for each individual or relay team is required. Registration will include transportation, a swim cap, sweatshirt, swim buoy, timed results, beach towel, finishing award, food and drink, and overall awards.
Each Relay Team Member MUST register separately. (So each 4 person relay cost $880 and each two person relay cost $540).
Anyone registering that has an active US Masters Swimming membership gets a $20 discount on the registration cost.
Swim Course
The race will start at 6:00 am at Fontana on Geneva Lake and you will swim back to Bigfoot Sate Park following the south shore. Swimmers must stay between the no wake buoys and shoreline. This course allows for the unique ability of spectators to walk the south shore and watch the swimmers the entire 8 mile course. This does mean spectators will have to walk 8 to 9 miles while watching the swimmers swim a few hundred feet off the south shoreline.
Swim Requirements
To qualify for solo entry, you must provide the results of a 5 km or 10 km race result with a time faster than 2 hours or 4 hours, respectively in the last three years (pool or open water). Other documented races over 5 km, like ultra-distances may be used as your reference also.
All relay swimmers should have some open water swimming experience and be able to swim a mile under 45 minutes in a pool. Swimmers must pick-up their race packet in person the morning of the race (Saturday: July 26th, 2025). All swimmers must sign a waiver the morning of packet pick-up. No swimmers under the age of 18 years of age are allowed.
Relays
Each swimmer on a four person relay will swim 2 miles. Each swimmer on a two person relay will swim one 4 mile interval. Each relay team must have a kayaker to support their team (each relay team only needs one Kayaker for support).
Refund Policy
Every effort will be make to hold the swim on July 26th. In the event of severe weather, the start my be delayed, or moved to the following day (Sunday). Swimmers who do not complete, or who do not completed the swim, are not eligible for refunds. If the event is cancelled due to weather, no refunds will be given.
A minimum of five relay teams must register or the relays will be cancelled. If we do not have 5 relay teams by July 1st, a full refund will be refunded to relay teams. There will only be a maximum of 11 relays teams allowed.
