The Arbery Virtual Race

Running Club @ UW has teamed up with the Black Student Union to fight the systemic racism prevalent throughout our country and communities, and we need your help! The Arbery Virtual Race is Running Club’s first virtual race, and our proceeds will go to the Wisconsin Black Initiative Fund. We are a social running club that prides ourselves on welcoming runners of all levels and backgrounds. No one should fear for their lives when going on a run. For that reason, our race will be 5.11 kilometers to remember Ahmaud Arbery, who was born on May 11th.

Time and Location: Since this is a virtual race, you will be able to run your race anywhere and anytime between 12 am on Saturday, August 15th to 11:59 pm on Saturday, August 22nd.

Pricing: $8 + RunSignUp processing fee

Each participant will receive an Arbery Virtual Race sticker. The sticker will be mailed to the address you register with.

Timing: Record your run on your watch or phone using a running app (Garmin, Strava, Runkeeper, etc.) and email the screenshot of your run to runningclubuwmsn@gmail.com between 12 am on Saturday, August 15th to 11:59 pm on Monday, August 24th. Results of the race will be posted on https://runningclubuw.com (club races > race results).
