Who is Joe?
Before Joe’s Run, Walk and Roll, there was Joe Lubarsky. Joe, who has a mild condition of Cerebral Palsy, started a sit-up contest in 1975 to raise funds for United Cerebral Palsy during the annual telethon. In 1988, the sit-up contest transformed into a run, when Joe started receiving pledges to run 10 miles from home to work in the dead of winter. Over time, the event turned into the community run, walk and roll that it is today.
