Thank you for being a part of our Capital City AT HOME--a day to celebrate the miracles made possible because of organ, tissue and eye donors!
This is a day to reflect and renew our commitment to save more lives.
Every 10 minutes another person is added to the transplant waiting list. Did you know that eighty percent (80%) of the men and women on the waiting list need a kidney? The National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW) is leading the way to raise awareness and provide education to community members about transplant and donation.
We remain strong advocates to ensure that transplant recipients are prioritized when a vaccine or preventative treatment becomes available for COVID-19. We are relentless in our pursuit to gain lifetime coverage for immunosuppression medication and insurance and job protections for individuals who want to become living kidney or liver donors.
As a nonprofit health charity, contributions fund public awareness, patient education programs and a patient/caregiver Helpline. Our goal is to raise $20,000 in contributions by August 15 so that we are able to fund all of these programs in 2021. Here is how anyone can make a contribution to show their support for transplant and organ donation:

On Saturday, whether you walk, run or bike, remember to follow all CDC and local public health guidelines because, we want you to be ‘safe’ AT HOME.
Join us at 8:00am CDT on the Capital City Facebook page (facebook.com/CapCity5K) to be a part of our Wake-Up/Warm-Up LIVE program. You will meet recipients and donors, ‘stretch out’, sing along and then ‘inch up’ to our virtual starting line!
Remember to share your photos on social media. Make photos public and use #CAPCITYAtHome2020 on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Photos posted before 3:00pm may be included in the Legacy of Life Celebration Facebook Live program at 6:30pm CDT.

On Sunday, look for an email which contains a link to complete a short survey about the event and our livestream programs. Since this is our first ‘virtual’ fundraising event, we are anxious to read your comments and suggestions.
