PARC/RCRC’s 5th Annual Amazing 5K Run/Walk

The 5th Annual PARC/RCRC Amazing 5K is not a race, more so an activity that includes fun
“challenges” and business stops along the route. Think walkathon/fun run meets amazing race.
 The 2025 theme is “Welcome to the Apple Capital of Minnesota” and will take place in
La Crescent.  All ages are welcome! Registration is required for all participants other than
babies/children in strollers. Minors must be accompanied by parents.  The cost of registration
covers all event food/beverage stops, with the exception of an optional adult beverage. The
first 75 registrants will receive a 2025 souvenir personalized PARC 5K glass. This is a nonprofit
event, with proceeds as well as additional contributions being donated to the Julianna and
Steven Blanchar Kindergarten Trip Fund.

The event starts and ends in La Crescent at the parking lot on South First Street, behind Wieser
Professional Building, 33 South Walnut Street, and near the La Crescent Wagon Wheel
Bike/Pedestrian bridge. The 5K is not timed, and all challenges/stops are optional. Estimate up
to 3 hours if participating in each challenge!   Please note that one stop is a pub—anyone under
21 MUST be accompanied by their legal guardian to be in this establishment, and beverages for
this optional stop are not included in registration. 

Bonuses this year only! 1) Scavenger hunt: Find predetermined scavenger hunt items along
the route. 2) Make a day of it, make the event a duathlon! After completing the 5K run/walk
route, hop on your bike and ride the Wagon Wheel Trail over to Shore Acres Road and back,
approximately 3-5 miles. BYOB (Bring your own bike!)

Download the “RunGo” app for verbal turn-by-turn instructions as you follow the route!  A
document that can be printed with a detailed route and stops will be posted on the PARC
La Crosse Facebook event at least one week prior to the event.  A limited number of printed
route maps will be available at the event.  Participants are encouraged to print and bring a map
from the PARC La Crosse Facebook page if not using RunGo. Each participant will receive a
check-off list of challenges and scavenger hunt items.

Note: In case of inclement weather necessitating cancellation, a gathering will instead be held
in Corky’s Pizza’s Event Room from 11 AM – 12:00 PM, where you can pick up your race goodies
and still enjoy the food/drink samples you would’ve received along the route. Please check the
PARC La Crosse Facebook page the evening before the event if the forecast is questionable.
