Did you know, the VA estimates that 22 veterans die by suicide every day? Come join the Y on June 5th as we walk 2.2 miles to bring awareness to this community issue and to honor and support the veterans in our lives.
This is a fundraising event for the Y Annual Campaign, that supports mental health and Veterans programs at the Y. Please consider making a donation to support our ongoing work with Veterans. Before the pandemic, we offered Wellness Warriors, a program for Veterans to offer not only physical fitness but also mental, social and emotional support as well. We want to be able to continue to offer this program for more veterans and expand on our membership options and programs for Veterans in our community.
We will be taking safety precautions to help keep participants safe from COVID-19. The event will look a little different than it has in past years. The event will run from 9:00am-12:00pm and the walk course will be available from 9:30am-11:30am. Participants can start anytime the racecourse is open.
After you complete the walk feel free to stay and have a snack with us, enjoy music and conversation with family and friends. We will also have mental health professionals on-site for anyone who is looking to chat.
The event will start and end at the R.W. Houser Family YMCA in the grass field between the building and the miracle field.
Register before May 25th to guarantee your shirt size.
