Virtually United - a virtual run/walk to elevate all!

Through our non-profit Elevate, we like to plan events that lift communities up, we support lots of local charities and we create ways to lift others up (like our grant program) and lift ourselves up (like our wellness event).  Our typical 1 mile/ 5K run walk (Race for your Reason - where participants chose the charity they want their registration dollars to go toward) is still optimistically being planned for late June, but we wanted to try to do something to elevate everyone around us during this covid-19 crisis.  

It's such a tough time we are all learning to navigate with having to physically distance ourselves from our friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, our gyms and the things that keep us well both inside and out.  We have also seen so many communities and charities have to cancel events that would have brought us all together, that we otherwise would have gone to and would love to find a way to support the charities and our communities right now!  

Join us as we all make an effort to get outside or on the treadmill to walk or run a mile, 3 miles, whatever you would like to set as your goal on Saturday April 11th.  As you register, you can write in the charity of your choice and chose a $ amount that you would like to donate to them.  Then on race day, get out, get active, share a post or picture or whatever on social media and use the hashtag #virtuallyunited.  

We would like to support these three charities but also welcome you to write in another one you are may want to support through this time! 

Feeding America of Southeastern Wisconsin- a nonprofit supporting food banks, food pantries, and shelters. 

United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County COVID - 19 Urgent Needs Fund 

Save with Stories - in partnership with Save the Children and No Kid Hungry, they offer stories read by celebrities via social media to kids at home as well as providing resources to make sure kids are fed during this time. 

Local hospital foundations to support them specifically with their staff and needs
