Due to concerns related to the spread of the Coronavirus and under direction of the State of Wisconsin and the CDC, the Dash at the Dunes scheduled for April 18th is cancelled.
In response to those who would still like to run, walk, or just get out and get some exercise, we are offering a non-competitive Phantom 5K instead of the Dash. Set a goal and go for it! Registration is free, but you have the option of making a donation near the end of registration to help us with our important nature-protecting mission and education. Anyone who completes a 5K from April 18 - May 18 on the honor system – just like golf, can register. At this time, we will assume that all who already registered for the Dash will participate in the Phantom 5K so you do not have to re-register, unless you opted for a refund.
Those who complete the Phantom 5K will receive special recognition at next year’s race, a unique Phantom gift, and be recognized in our newsletter.
Your 5K can be done anywhere during that time frame. Please remember to honor social distancing and small groups if you walk or run together – less than 10 people at a 6- foot distance.
Once you complete your 5K, you can submit your result here: http://myresult.live/Phantom5K
Stay safe, be strong, and keep running.

This course is a beautiful 5k trail run/walk that begins in the parking lot behind Aurora Medical Center, which then leads to a section of the Ice Age Trail. You will walk/run through forested ridges and swales, across small bridges and through a secluded meadow. The last 3/4 of a mile runs along Columbus Street, crosses Hawthorne Avenue, and ends at our Nature Center.
This is a friendly race event at a bit of a slower pace due to the roots, surprise “trail trolls,” and natural terrain. Give it a go! And then sprint for time when you hit the street!
Youth participants 12 and under will automatically receive a discount during registration and be able to register for the price of $10.
