Event Description

The Horning Hawks Run is a fun, feel-good community event honoring the history and legacy of Horning Middle School—and it’s open to current and former students, staff, families, and community members.

Held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Horning Middle School / Banting Park in Waukesha, the event features age-based options so everyone can join in:

Half Mile for grades 1–5 (9:00 AM)
Middle/High School 3K for grades 6–12 (9:15 AM)
Open 3K Hawk Walk/Run for college-aged participants and adults (9:45 AM).

Proceeds support Horning Track & Field and PBIS

Registration costs are above.

The fee covers the registration and overhead for hosting the race. Extra funds goes towards our Track & Field team’s “final season” jerseys, and the cost of your event shirt (you may choose not to)

Race Day

Every runner will receive a commemorate race bib
Pick up in Horning Cafeteria on Wolf Road after 8:00am
Also pick up shirts here if you purchased one
The Start Line is in front of the main office
The Finish Line is in front of the cafeteria
The Cafeteria will have bathrooms, snacks, and water

Awards

All walkers & runners will receive a finisher medal.
Medals for 1st/2nd/3rd for both male/females

Parking

All parking lots will be unavailable for spectators. Park on the city streets surrounding the schools and park. Please be courteous of our neighbors - leave at least 3 feet from bumpers to driveways.

Courses

This is a 3 kilometer / 1.86 mile course. There are 2 laps on the course. Most of the course is on sidewalks. The middle section, in the Banting Park field, will be on grass. The north side of the course, along Wolf Road from Butler Drive to Allen Lane, will be on the grass between the trees and the street. Please follow flags, cones, markings, and instructions from helpers. We will do our best to ensure everyone is doing the correct distance.
