Description
The Wausau Winter Triathlon is a sprint style triathlon that begins with Nordic Skiing (10k skate or classic), transitions to Fat Biking (15k) and finishes with a Snowshoe run (5k; Distances are approximate). Ski on classic or skate groomed trails. The Fat Bike and Snowshoe portions are on rough-groomed singletrack trails all through beautiful Nine Mile County Forest.
Helmets and 3.8"+ tires are required on the bike.
Check in/Packet pickup: 8:30-9:30 am
Transition Set up: Begins at 8:30 am
Race Start: 10 am
Soup and hot chocolate will be served following the event.
Divisions & Awards:
Solo - 1st, 2nd, 3rd for Male and Female in classic and skate
Relay - Team of 3 participants with each doing 1 discipline (ski, bike, snowshoe), any combination of male/female (1st Overall in both classic and skate)
Must be present for awards to be given.
Profits support CWOCC - Central Wisconsin Offroad Cycling Coalition to continue building and maintaining area mountain bike trails.
We will do our best to ensure the event does not get cancelled. Modifications may be made to be sure the race goes on, depending on weather and trail conditions. Stay tuned for final updates the week of the race.
