Join us for this year’s Joe’s Run, Walk and Roll, benefiting Broadscope Disability Services on Saturday, September 11th, 2021 in Hart Park in Wauwatosa. This year marks the 25th annual Joe’s Run, Walk and Roll and we hope to see you for this milestone anniversary event! We are thrilled to announce that this event will offer a competitive 5K option timed and managed by Silver Circle Sports. Broadscope is also teaming up with Tosa Fest! As the race concludes, Tosa Fest will be gearing up allowing attendees to continue the fun. We look forward to introducing Broadscope Disability Services to a brand new audience!
Joe's Run, Walk and Roll will still maintain the family-friendly atmosphere that our supporters have grown to love but the event will now include a competitive 5K run along with a walk and wheelchair roll. This event provides a critical source of funding for Broadscope’s Respite, Independent Living, and Employment programs for people with disabilities and their families.
Stay for the post-run reception with great food, games, and entertainment. Registration opens at 9 a.m. at Hart Park in Wauwatosa. We look forward to seeing you September 11th!
This t-shirt is extra special as it commemorates the 25th anniversary of Joe’s Run, Walk and Roll! This year’s t-shirt features the original design from the first community run, walk and roll held in 1996. Just in case you didn’t know, the runner on the shirt is Joe!
Joe’s Run, Walk, & Roll started out in 1975 with a sit up contest held in a basement led by its sole participant, Joe Lubarsky, a champion for people with disabilities who himself lives with Cerebral Palsy. The event earned its name in 1988 when Joe first took it beyond the basement to run 10 miles to work, and in 1996 it grew into the family-focused community run, walk and roll that it has become today.
Broadscope Disability Services advances opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families. We believe in a world where individuals with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else. 2020 was extra special as we celebrated 50 years of making a difference in our community. Broadscope serves over 2000 individuals every year through our Employment, Independent Living and Respite Programs. Your support can help us fill in the gaps in funding and give hardworking parents a chance to relax and be better caregivers for their child(ren) with disabilities. Your kindness can help people get the personalized, on-site coaching they need to succeed at a job. Your generosity can give individuals living independently the support they need to make a change that lasts a lifetime.
The shirts are cotton and those registered noon September 1 are guaranteed a custom race shirt. After that, shirts be available while on line supplies last. Any extra shirts will be distributed after the race on a first come first serve basis.
Joe's Run, Walk and Roll will host a FREE kiddo's 1K. The event is open to children under 10 and is free if a parent is participating in the 5K (t-shirt not included for kid race registrants)
