Valley Health War Memorial Hospital Five State Challenge 5K

This is a 5K race sponsored by Valley Health War Memorial Hospital at the newly designed Berkeley Springs High School Cross Country Course at Cacapon Resort State Park in Berkeley Springs, WV. A project of the Cacapon State Park Foundation. Races for runners of all ages, middle school, high school and an open race. The course is challenging and fair.  The course has a challenging uphill start, with a downhill stretch going across the dam which leads you through the wooded mountainside of Cacapon State Park.  As one gentlemen stated "It's a beautiful course. It can be your best friend or your worst enemy."

The Middle School race is 2.3 miles and the High School and Open race are both 3.1 miles. The High School runners will compete as State Teams. The State with the lowest score will be the 2018 Champion and have their States name and year put on the plaque that hangs in the Lodge at Cacapon Resort State Park.  So West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Dc come on out and register to compete to be the fastest State!
