Grafton 5 Mile Run

The Grafton 5 Mile run provides a challenging race course, as well as pre and post race fun for the whole family. Sponsored by the Grafton High School track teams, the 5 mile course begins and ends on the track at Grafton High school. The event will kick off with a half mile kids fun run, followed by the 5 Mile Run and 2 Mile Run/Walk. Post race refreshments will be available for runners and walkers after the event.

Registration is $25 online for the run or run/walk, and $3 for the kids fun run. Late registration will be available beginning at noon the day of the event for $30.

Early Registration ends March 5th. Race shirts are guaranteed to early registrants ONLY. Race shirts will be first come, first serve for quantity and sizes to those who register AFTER March 5th. Online registration will close on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers for the 5 Mile Run. Awards will also be presented to top finishers in each age category. Age categories are as follows: Under 18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Race results will be posted online!!

Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers 18 & up AND the top 3 finishers 17 & under in the 2 Mile Run/Walk. Awards will also be presented to the top 2 finishers in the following age categories: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80&up.

COME GET YOUR SHIRT, BIB AND FREE STUFF AT EARLY PACKET PICK UP!   Early packet pickup is being held this year on Saturday, March 18th from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Mary Battle Studio at Grafton High School. To access the Mary Battle Studio, turn onto Sam Bord Drive from Yates Avenue and proceed around the back side of the high school. Look for the giant START flag to guide you! YES, if you have friends or family who have not signed up yet, they can do so at early packet pick up!!

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND EARLY PACKET PICK UP? First reason to attend is to make your race day experience less hectic! No lines and no fuss on event day, just warming up and preparing for your best race yet! At early packet pickup, you will be given your bib, timing chip and race t-shirt. By getting your shirt early you can wear it on race day!!

NEXT THE VERY BEST REASON TO PICK UP YOUR PACKET EARLY…EXTRA SPECIAL BONUS!  You will receive a special FREE high tech running cap (see picture) that is lightweight and perfect for wearing during hot, sunny summer races or training days. 

Additionally, just for those who come to early pick up, you will also have your bib number entered for a chance to win some race day swag and valuable prizes!  Don’t miss your chance to win a set of high-end wireless headphones or a coupon from Bridgeport Running, as well as other items!  Drawings for the wireless headphones and other goodies will be held post-race just prior to the awards ceremony.

FOR THOSE UNABLE TO COME TO EARLY PACKET PICK UP…Day of race registration and race day packet pick up will begin at 12Noon in the Mary Battle Studio at Grafton High School. Please arrive early, as we want you to have plenty of time to check in and get your bib and timing chip ready. 

START TIMES:  A reminder that the Fun Run for Kids 12 & under will start at 1:30pm followed at 2:00pm by the start for both the 5 Mile Run and the 2 Mile Run.

PARKING on race day will be available in the student parking lot next to Sam Bord Drive. We will have signs and volunteers to direct you on race day. Please reserve all parking outside the Mary Battle Studio for handicap accessibility only. Post-race refreshments and awards ceremony will be held in the Grafton High School cafeteria.
