Description
Join Paul the Apostle on his first missionary journey, and lead your team to victory! This is a team-based, charity, virtual month-long race that is measured in steps, not miles. This is a GREAT way to:
- Prepare for your spring race schedule
- Meet your New Years Resolutions
- Participate in Team Building for your company or club
Have Fun! Get Fit! Support a worthy cause!
Teams of four aggregate steps (think Fitbit tracking) weekly across the month of February and report them to Christian Help. The journey's milestones are:
Cyprus – 200K collective steps
Pamphylia – 500K collective steps
Phrygia – 750K collective steps
Lycaonia – 1 Million collective steps
Antioch – 1.5 Million collective steps
(Your average stay-at-home parent with a busy toddler logs 80,000+ steps a week!)
Teams can either compete for the podium (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) or compete against themselves to reach the final milestone.
FAQ:
- Who should register my team?
- The Team Captain will register him/herself for the event on behalf of the team.
- How do we log our steps?
- The Team Captain will email team step totals for the preceding Monday-Sunday, Mondays to information@motownchristianhelp.com. Email subject lines should flag the team name and the week.
- How will we know our progress?
- We will track all team progress and make periodic updates on the event on our FB page.
- How do we retrieve our medals?
- Participation and placement medals can be retrieved during normal business hours at any time after the event by the team captain or representative for the entire team.
- Can we receive a refund?
- For this event, we do not offer refunds. This is a charity event where all the proceeds go to support our mission to support the emergency needs of members of our community.
- Where do I go to get my steps?
- This is a virtual event, so you can accumulate steps virtually anywhere (see what I did there?). You can get your steps in at home, at work, on a treadmill, around the block, at another, in-person race, or even at the mall.
- How do I track my steps?
- We recommend using a pedometer. Most smartwatches include this as part of their functionality. Some devices specifically track steps which are not smart watches.
- Can I be in two teams? (For instance, a company team and a family/friends team)
- One individual can participate in multiple teams. They would report the same step count to multiple team captains.
- Can my team register after the event starts?
- Yes, however, registration must occur by February 5th, 2024 at 11 p.m.
