Choose Your Own Adventure!
Description
Spring is here, one of the best running seasons of the year! Two Rivers Treads is happy to present the Vernal V spring series, a set of 5 virtual races. Like the Frozen 5, we will be purchasing gift certificates from small businesses to give to support them during these times. We will also be challenging you to improve the environment, lift spirits, and set/ break personal goals, but also have fun and be silly. If you choose to run/ walk the 15K, these events are designed to second as training distances for a half marathon - more specifically the Harpers Ferry Half Marathon scheduled for May 15.
What do I get?
For anyone who registers for all 5 races, you'll receive a custom "Two Rivers Treads" Rawlogy recovery ball, and chance to win prizes from local restuarants and small businesses! This is a fundraising event for our friends at Freedom's Run, as well as to benefit local/ small businesses in our and your communities.
Dates & Themes:
March 6: Winter VS Spring 5K
This one is a bit more interactive than some of our other events, in that you're actually split into two teams competing! Odds vs Even bibs. Odd bibs are winter, even bibs are spring. We'll average your team's time and whoever has the fastest overall time will be the season that wins! A much more reliable source for determining the weather than Punxsutawney Phil.
March 20: “Hi Neighbor ” 4 miler
This one is more a challenge throughout the day (or every day really). In honor of Mr. Rogers’s birthday, we challenge you to take this day to pay it forward, help your fellow neighbor, or brigthens someones day. Mr. Rogers did not just host and create a beloved children's show, but also a champion of advocating for human rights on his show including, race, mental health and disability rights. So take time to help your neighbor today!
April 3: 4-3-21 BLAST OFF! 5 miler
Space Theme, because that date is too perfect not to. It only comes around every thousand years!
April 17: The Plog Jog 10K
Plogging is the Swedish term for picking up trash/ litter as your run. With Earth Day just around the corner, lets celebrate early and clean up our favorite running/walking routes!
May 1: Choose your Own Adventure!
Challenge yourself to a 4 mile, 10K OR 15K!
