This 30 day challenge is for you to get active your way! Here's how it works:
Register for the 30 event and challenge yourself to be active every day from February 19th to March 20th (the last day of winter!) Adults, try for at least 150 minutes of activity a week (that's just 22 minutes a day!), and kids can work towards at least 60 minutes a day. Break up your movement into 10 minute sessions, mix up your activities, and try some new workouts! Keep track of your daily minutes, and every day log your total minutes of activity through your race profile. Check the 'Activity Suggestions' page on the race website for ideas on how to be active, and share new ideas or activities on the Active SWV Bulletin Board Page.
Staying active on a regular schedule can help you both physically and mentally. Reaching the goal of 150 minutes a week for adults and 60 minutes every day for youth can improve mood, sleep, metabolism, immune system, and strengthen bones and muscles. When you feel an excuse coming on to not get up and get active, remember the importance of taking care of yourself on a daily and weekly basis. Having a team during this challenge can help you to have fun and stay accountable. You deserve to be happy and healthy!
