Full Moon 5k Costume Run

Walk, bike, scoot, crawl, or run for your life... under a full moon!

This is a family-friendly spooky costume 5k event along the Laramie River Greenbelt, starting at sunset and finishing as the daylight fades. Glowsticks will be available for all participants, and participants may bring a headlamp or flashlight. 

In addition to glowsticks, you will also get free professional pictures of you in your costume, and hot cocoa at the finish! Kids will also get Halloween-themed medals.

Costumes highly encouraged, but mostly importantly, DRESS WARM! See the weather update below!  

Schedule

• Check-in and race-day registration opens at 5:30pm. 
• 5k starts at 6pm.  

Awards:

• Winner's choice of a famous Jackie Grimes homemade Pumpkin Pie or a homemade Pecan Pie will be awarded to the top OVERALL male & female, and the top 16 & UNDER male & female. 

Costume Contest:

• All costumed participants can enter a Costume Contest for FREE! You will get a free professional picture taken at the event. We will post all entries online for voting after the event, and we will announce the winners on November 1! 

10/25/23 WEATHER UPDATE:
In light of the forecast, we are pivoting a bit to maximize the enjoyment for everyone! Some of the activities we originally planned are not conducive to snowy weather, so we will not plan to do face painting, temporary tattoos, or pumpkin painting. 

• We will still have the 5k under the full moon! We encourage folks to dress warm, with hats, gloves, and layers, and be prepared for possible snow!
• We will still have plenty of glowsticks for all!
• We will still have a photographer ready to capture professional photos of all who come in costume! 
• And, we will have hot coca waiting for participants afterwards, in the glow of the full moon.
