- 9am - Registration, Breakfast, Resource Fair Opens
- 9:30am - Brief Warm-Up
- 9:45am - Walk begins
- 10am - Kids Zone Opens
- 11am - Costume Contest Winner Announced
- 11:30am - Raffle Winners Announced
- 12pm Event ends

Directions & Public Transportation
From Interstate 805 take the state Route 94 freeway east and exit on Broadway/College Avenue. Turn right on College Avenue and then left on College Grove Drive. The entrance is on the right, just past College Grove Way.
Chollas Lake Park is accessible by bus via SDMTS Routes 5, 856, 916 and 936.
Parking
Chollas Lake Park has two parking lots with free parking available. Participants may also park for free on the street along College Grove Dr.
Route
The Walk for Literacy will follow the 0.8 mile/1.3km dirt path around Chollas Lake. The route is suitable for walkers of all abilities and strollers. Walkers are welcome to complete as many laps as they feel comfortable. Virtual walkers can choose their own route and distance.
Costumes
Dress up as your favorite book character! Prizes will be awarded to the best costumes. Costumes are not required to participate in the Walk.
Volunteer
Dozens of volunteers are needed to ensure the Walk for Literacy’s success.

Important Notes
- Dogs must be on-leash at all times.
- Smoking is not allowed.
- Glass containers are not allowed.
