FAQ
Q: Where do I park?
A: Security and police officers will be available to direct you to university parking lots, along with parking signage. Most parking lots are off of Wesleyan Street and additional parking is available off Collard Street. Parking is also indicated on the course map.
Q: Do runners start at a separate time than walkers?
A: Yes, the Wesleyan 5K will begin at 8:30am with the Willie Walk starting at 8:45am. We ask that Willie Walkers use the sidewalk, whenever available. For the W5K, we also ask that runners lineup at or near the starting line and the walkers gather towards the back of the line. We also ask that all racers allow people to pass on the left. If you're at a slower pace than those behind you, please stay to the right of the path.
Q: Is there a discount for students?
A: Yes, if you're currently enrolled at Texas Wesleyan, you MUST register in person in the alumni office (2nd floor, Admin. Bldg.) in order to receive your discount. Questions? Contact the alumni office at 817.531.6548 or alumni@txwes.edu.
Q: Is there a discount for kids?
A: Yes. Kids, ages 5-12, can participate at $15. The price will be indicated in the shopping cart, which is calculated according to their date of birth. Kids 4 and under are welcome to enjoy event festivities free of charge and do not need to register for the event.
Q: Are dogs allowed at the event?
A: Unfortunately, not this year. Please leave your pets at home.
Q: Are strollers allowed in the W5K?
A: Yes, feel free to participate with your babies or kids in strollers. However, we ask that you please start the race near the back of the lineup to allow our runners a head start and avoid potential collisions. And please also allow for runners to pass on your left.
Q: Where will onsite registration and packet pick-up be located?
A: In front of the Administration Building. Walk-up registrations are welcome, but the cost on the day of the event is $40. Onsite packet pick-up begins at 7:30 a.m. in the same place.
Q: Where are the best locations for spectators?
A: The best place to be is on the front lawn of the Administration Building. You can watch the runners as they start and finish. Spectators are also welcome to grab a spot anywhere on campus along Collard or Wesleyan Streets.
Q: Can I wear ear phones when I run?
A: Sure! If that helps you keep in step, then feel free to race to your favorite tunes.
