Yes. White Lake is known as one of the fastest half iron courses in the United States. The swim is in calm, spring-fed White Lake with no currents or tides, the 56 mile bike is a flat two-loop course on smooth roads, and the 13.1 mile run is a flat double out-and-back.

Flat bike and run courses, a calm lake swim, an 8:30:00 course cutoff from the final swim wave start, aid every 1 to 1.5 miles on the run, and everything centralized at Goldston's Beach make White Lake a great first long course race. A Novice category is offered too, and Without Limits offers triathlon coaching if you want a plan to get you there.

The race site is The Grand Regal at Goldston's Beach, 1608 White Lake Drive, White Lake, NC 28337. See the Lodging page for places to stay.
