1. What is The Blossom Build?
The Blossom Build is a 10-week training program designed to help you prepare for the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run or 5K. Train with experienced coaches, follow a structured training plan, and enjoy the support of a welcoming running community.
2. Does registering for The Blossom Build guarantee my entry into the Cherry Blossom race?
Yes! Register for an in-person Blossom Build training program before December 15 and you'll receive a guaranteed race entry code, allowing you to bypass the Cherry Blossom lottery. The guaranteed entry benefit is not available with virtual training.
3. Do I still need to enter the Cherry Blossom lottery?
No! If you register for an eligible Blossom Build program before December 15, you can skip the lottery entirely. You'll receive a guaranteed entry code that allows you to register directly for the race.
4. Is my Cherry Blossom race registration included in the training program fee?
No. Your Blossom Build registration provides access to a guaranteed race entry, but you are still responsible for paying the race registration fee and any additional add-ons you select. You must also complete the official race registration process using your guaranteed entry code.
5. When can I register for the Cherry Blossom race?
Once you've registered for an eligible Blossom Build program, we'll send you a guaranteed entry code. You can use that code to register for the race as soon as you receive it, without waiting for the lottery.
6. When and where does The Blossom Build meet?
The 10-week program runs from January 30 through April 3, with group runs offered in Arlington/DC, Burke, Reston/Ashburn, and Vienna. Groups meet Saturday mornings at 8 AM, except the Arlington/DC group who meets Sundays at 8 AM.
7. Is there a virtual training option?
Yes! Our virtual program includes a structured training plan, coach support, and weekly email communication. Virtual participants can also join select group runs with advance notice. Please note that the virtual program does not include guaranteed Cherry Blossom race entry.
8. How much does The Blossom Build cost?
The 10-week training program costs $145 and includes a structured training plan, experienced coaching, and group training opportunities. Race registration fees are separate.
