WOLFMAN TRIATHLON COURSE
Paddle (3 Miles):
Racers launch kayaks or canoes onto a rocky, scenic Class II whitewater section of the Wolf River just north of Langlade, finishing at the DNR landing. Tandem teams race together in the same boat.
Mountain Bike (13 Miles):
Participants transition to bikes, head down Highway 64, and navigate the technical singletrack trails of the Nicolet Roche system within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, ending near the Gardner Dam Adventure Base.
Trail Run (3.75 Miles):
A rugged course featuring steep forest climbs, dense ferns, riverbank trails, rope climb, and a mandatory wet river crossing before finishing at the post-race celebration.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
A helmet and a properly fitted PFD/life jacket are required during the paddle. Appropriate flotation and a neoprene skirt are also required depending on the boat style. A sit-a-top or inflatable does not require flotation or a skirt.
A helmet is required during the mountain bike segment.
Passing: Be courteous and communicate before passing. On the bike course, ask “Can I pass?” before making your move when possible. Be aware that the bike segment has wider sections where it may be safer to wait for an appropriate place to pass. When passing, “On your left” is the standard call. On the run, pass on the left when the trail allows, and communicate with the runner ahead.
All participants must follow instructions from race officials, safety boaters, and volunteers. These requirements are in place for everyone's safety and are not optional.
