FAQ
Q: How does the Big 26 Virtual Challenge work?
Sign up as an individual or with a team (pairs or families) to log 26 miles of running, walking, or other physical activity in 26 days. Log your activity, share your results, and feel good about being active!
Q: How much does the event cost?
There is no cost to participate. Our goal for this challenge is to provide a way for our Big 26 Friends and Family to "come together" for a shared athletic experience.
Participants have the option to purchase a shirt during the registration process.
Q: Do I need to be a Big 26 player or buddy alum to participate?
NO! Anyone can participate.
Q: Is the challenge an individual event or a team event?
The Virtual 5K is an individual challenge. Participants for the 26 in 26 can register as as individual and then choose to create or join a team.
Q: Can wheelchair athletes participate?
Absolutely. Wheelchair athletes can enter as an individual or as part of a team. Activity miles can be logged by actual distance traveled or by using the conversion chart for other activities.
Q: Ho do I join a team?
Determine which team member will be the Team Captain. During registration the Team Captain will follow the prompts to set up the team and share the name for others to join. If all members of a team are in one family, the Team Captain can sign up each family member in one registration. Team Captains may set a password when inviting others to join their team.
Q: How many participants can be on a team?
There are two team categories - Pairs and Squads. Two (two) people can enter a team under the Pairs category. Up to 6 people can enter as a squad. Larger families or groups should split up into two or more teams.
Q: Are there any awards?
Not this year. We'd love to add this into our annual calendar and develop it more, but for now it's just about offering an opportunity to participate and have fun. Maybe a little friendly competition! Report you activity miles on the honor system. Since there are no awards, we won't be validating entries. It's between you and your fitness goal!
Q: When does the event start?
Both challenges start on August 6 and should be completed by midnight on August 31st.
