For the first time ever, The Miami Foundation is hosting a Give Miami Day 5K Race/Walk and Festival to celebrate generosity in Miami. We want every corner of our community to experience the joy of being a donor, so we’re consistently looking for new ways to reach new audiences to make giving during Give Miami Day greater every year.

100% of proceeds from every participant’s race registration fee supports Miami’s local nonprofits, with the opportunity for participants to choose to give to an issue area they care about (so all nonprofits registered for Give Miami Day within that category benefit) or directly to a nonprofit. 

With The Give Miami 5K Race and Festival, nonprofit organizations can now offer their supporters a new, experiential way to get involved in Give Miami Day, whether donors are lacing up their running shoes, inviting friends and family to experience Give Miami Day in a new way, providing matching dollars for every mile run, or cheering nonprofits on in the stands.

How The Give Miami 5K Works

  • 100% of proceeds from every runner’s race registration fee goes towards Miami’s nonprofits. Runners can direct their fee towards the issue area they care about most or to a particular nonprofit.
  • Nonprofit and corporate organizations with five or more registrants are eligible to create teams. Teams are eligible for more prizes and can collectively raise funds for their favorite nonprofits.
  • Nonprofits that are not registered to fundraise through Give Miami Day 2025 are ineligible to participate or receive donations from The Give Miami 5K. Nonprofit registration for Give Miami Day closes Ocotber 17, 2025.
  • Once a nonprofit has completed their Give Miami Day registration, it will take approximately 24 – 48 hours to set up a running team on the Give Miami Day 5K race registration page.  
  • Nonprofits will receive the donations raised from The Give Miami 5K as part of their Give Miami Day payout. The amount raised will be reflected on their Give Miami Day profile on Give Miami Day (November 20, 2025). 

 

Getting Started

      Visit www.givemiamiday.org to register your nonprofit for Give Miami Day. To be eligible, you must comply with all the following conditions:

(1) Be actively qualified as one of the following:

      • Tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity
      • A private operating foundation
      • Educational institution
      • Religious organization
      • Government social benefit agency (public works, parks, animal services, etc.)
      • Project with an established IRS 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor 

(2) Offer programming in Miami-Dade County.
(3) Be actively registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. 

Once your nonprofit registration has been submitted and approved, it will take approximately two days for your nonprofit to appear on the race registration page. 

Nonprofits that are not registered through Give Miami Day are ineligible to participate or receive donations from The Give Miami 5K.
