THE COURSE
Rock the River Course Descriptions
All three races begin on the banks of the Hudson River just north of the George Washington Bridge. The Half Marathon and the 5-K are out and back races that follow the Henry Hudson Drive, one of America's oldest scenic roads. The Trail Run follows the Long Path and Shore Trails after peeling off from Henry Hudson Drive. Trail runners will travel along the top of the Palisades cliffs, before descending to Ross Dock to finish. These are challenging races, but rewarding and beautiful.
As one of our past Half Marathon runners said: "Very challenging with big potential for personal payoff, beautifully scenic and small enough for athletes to feel like they’re out for a tough run among friends.". Another runner said "It’s tough. But it’s just as rewarding as it is unrelenting if you run smart."
