Are microspikes/snowshoes/skis or splitboards with skins required?
Yes

 

What is the distance of the race? 
Racers take the Telluride Trail ski run from the bottom of the gondola to the top of San Sophia ridge. The trail is 4,600 feet long (.8miles), featuring 1,1810ft of elevation gain and a grade of 13%. 

 

How long does it take someone to complete the race? 
Fastest racers will finish in around 30 minutes. Our more casual participants take their time, typically finishing in about an hour and 15 minutes. 

 

How can I get a hold of small spikes for the race? 
You can purchase spikes in Telluride at Jagged Edge Mountain Geer or one of the Christy Sports locations (the Alpineer or Boot Doctors). You can rent snowshoes from Boot Doctors and the Alpineer. 

 

Can people come and watch the race? 
People can watch the start or finish of the race easily in Gondola Plaza or at the top of San Sophia ridge. Spectating from the course itself is not easily accessible.
