The Race
Events
- Women's Mile: compete as an individual and optionally as a member of a team.
- Men's Mile: complete as an individual and optionally as a member of a team.
- Youth Mile: participants aged 13 and under complete as individuals and optionally as a member of a team
- Fun Mile: individuals participate in untimed, non-competitive event
- Family Mile: parents/guardians, along with their children, may participate in the untimed, non-competitive mile
Team Competition
- Runners may optionally compete on a team.
- Team categories are Women, Men, Youth. All members of a team must register online and run in the same heat.
- Team members register as individuals and specify Team Name during online registration.
- Team requires minimum of three finishers for team to qualify for team awards.
- Scoring of competitive teams is based on the sum total of the three fastest times.
- Team members will also be considered in determining individual results and awards.
Course
The course is point to point, beginning at the Frederick YMCA, 1000 N. Market St., heading south on Market Street through the heart of historic downtown Frederick to Carroll Creek Linear Park. The Frederick Market Street Mile course is measured according to USATF standards and is certified by USATF (#MD15002LMJ).
Strollers are welcome in the Family/Fun Mile, however please note that the city does not allow dogs during Celebrate Frederick's In The Street event.

- Thursday, September 9, 4-7:00 pm: at Charm City Run, 467 W. Patrick St
- Saturday, September 11, 7:30-9:45 am: at Frederick YMCA, 1000 N. Market St

- Awards available at finish line about 15 minutes after each heat (no awards ceremony!)

Optional Race Shirt Purchase
Optional Race Shirt purchase - $15 (no guarantee of availability after we make the shirt order, about three weeks before the race date)
Limited quantities of race shirts may be available for purchase at packet pickup and on race day, depending on availability and covid restrictions
Awards
You will be able to pick up your awards shortly after your heat completes. Please give our timer and volunteers at least 15 minutes to pull this all together.
Market Street Mile Awards to top male and female:
- open/overall awards are based on gun time, all other awards are based on net time
- open
- 40+
- 50+
- 60+
- youth (must run in youth heat)
Market Street Mile Age Group Awards:
- Men/Women's Mile: top two in each age group (19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+)
- Youth Mile: top three in each age group (mixed gender: 7 and under, 8-10, 11-13)
- Team: top team in each timed heat category, based on best finish times of minimum of three team members (team awards given to fastest three members of team)
Finisher Medal to all children age 13 and under in Youth and Fun/Family Mile.
No duplication between overall awards and age group awards.
Must be present to accept awards - we will not be mailing them.
Registration
Mail-in registration form available, but our volunteers would really appreciate it if you use online registration - note there's no processing fee! Mail-in registration forms must be received by a week before the race date. Shirts are not available through mail in registration.
Provide team name/family group name, if applicable, when registering.
Policies
No bib transfers and no refunds. See the FSRC Bib Transfer Policy.
For your safety and the safety of those around you, headphones are discouraged.
Dogs, bicycles, and skates are not allowed, and runners in violation of this policy are subject to disqualification and removal from the course.
Strollers are permitted in the Family/Fun Mile only -- please start near the end of the heat for everyone's safety.
